The Syria Film Festival brings the voices and experiences of ordinary Syrians to downtown Toronto. Our immediate goal is to raise awareness of the plight of Syrian refugees as they seek to escape the carnage of the ongoing conflict and build new lives for themselves and their families.

But its more than that. Cinema can express the lives of people much more eloquently than a simple story in the news media. These films will take you to the front lines of Syrias national tragedy: the refugee camps and the struggles of Syrians.

The Syria Film festival will also feature a photo exhibit about the conflict, and information on how you can help Syrian refugees.

Heres the schedule of our screenings. Please come out, share this event with your friends, and together we can build solidarity across continents.

Friday, Nov 13th, 7:30PM program:

– “Growing Home” short

– “Queens of Syria” feature

Saturday, Nov 14th, 7:30PM program:

– “50 Feet From Syria” feature
