FAWN Chamber Creative presents…
Synesthesia IV pt.1 – Sound & Body
Artistic Direction by Amanda Smith
Musical Direction by Adam Scime
Movement by Jennifer Nichols
Art by Kathryn Frances Warner
Lighting by Holly Meyer-Dymny
Makeup design by Erica Sun
Six exploratory Canadian composers have been selected by FAWN from a tall pile of submissions, spanning from across the country. With this music, Jenn and Kathryn will form a dance-based installation that will demonstrate the connection between sound and body. Since this is our 4th Synesthesia, we are going to do things a little differently. We’re bringing the audience into the opera development process, asking you to help us choose a new FAWN Opera composer!
On May 7th, three audience-selected composers will be announced and will continue onto part two of Synesthesia IV. These composers will each work with a different dancer, of differing styles, to collaborate on two new works of music with movement. A final composer will be chosen by the FAWN team to win a commission from FAWN Chamber Creative to create with us a brand new ballet-lyrique.
