Paintings of cityscapes, skylines and neighbourhoods are inspired by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls to action and the story of The Toronto Purchase (1787/2010). The artist uses pieces of the land (weathered plywood, birch bark, sand) to draw attention to our history of broken treaties, settler obligations and consider what decolonized land sharing agreements and respectful nation to nation relationships might look like. Proceeds benefit youth in Neskantaga First Nation.

Exhibit is open July 1-14, 1-4 pm daily, or by apt. T. 416-999-1030. Reception Saturday July 2, 1-4 pm. Artist website: www.diannepatychuk.ca
