Halifax District RCMP continue the search for thirty three year-old Brent Walton of Eastern Passage.

Yesterday, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Halifax District RCMP received a 911 call of a missing fisherman.

Investigation revealed that two fishermen were crossing Level Spot Lake in a 12-foot boat with an outboard motor when they started to experience mechanical difficulty.

At approximately 200 meters from shore the boat capsized.  One fisherman, a 29-year-old Halifax County man made it back to shore and summoned help.

Weather conditions at the time of the incident were sunny, two degrees Celsius with light west winds.

Members of Halifax District RCMP, Police Dog Service, Musquodoboit Harbour Fire Services, and approximately 60 searchers from Musquodoboit Harbour, Middle Musquodoboit and Sheet Harbour Ground Search and Rescue teams conducted a search for Mr. Walton until 9:30 p.m. last evening.

Neither of the individuals were wearing life jackets and it is believed alcohol was not involved.

The search is continuing today.
