Motorists can expect major delays, lane closures, and speed reductions on Deerfoot Trail in Calgary.

The closures and speed reductions affect southbound Deerfoot Trail at the Ogden Road flyover bridge and accommodate the bridge’s deck replacement. Traffic will be reduced to one 3.5-metre wide lane between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. on both June 8 and June 9, weather permitting. The speed limit is reduced to 80 km/h through the construction zone.

Motorists are futher reminded that once the nighttime work above is completed, there will still be lane and speed reductions in this area until Sept. 30, weather permitting. Deerfoot Trail will be reduced to two narrow lanes (3.0 m and 3.5 m widths, respectively) and the speed limit will be reduced to 80 km/h through the construction zone.

Motorists should use caution in the area and obey all signs, message boards, and flag people. Motorists are reminded that fines for speeding are doubled through construction zones when workers are present.
