Toronto’s Mayor, Rob Ford, has formally snubbed the allegations of him have been videotaped smoking crack, saying that these allegations are “ridiculous.” Reports have swirled recently asserting someone is trying to sell an alleged video recording of such an event to U.S. and Canadian media outlets. While Ford was leaving his Etobicoke home on Friday morning, he mentioned that it’s “absolutely not true,” and he later added also added that “It’s ridiculous. It’s another Toronto Star whatever.”

Again, later while leaving his office at city hall to give a brief statement to reporters, Ford stated that “anyways, like I said this morning, these allegations are ridiculous, it’s another story with respect to the Toronto Star going after me,” asserting “and that’s all I’ve got to say for now.” Consequently, Ford ignorantly walked away and took a nearby elevator, refusing to answer any questions from reporters. Ford and his lawyer both have so far dodged to confirm whether the video was a fake.

It was initially alleged by reporters of Toronto Star and the editor of the U.S. gossip website, Gawker, that a video footage has surfaced showing the mayor smoking from what appears to be a crack pipe. Two reporters of Toronto Star, namely Robyn Doolittle and Kevin Donovan, have allegedly seen the video thrice and claim that the man was trying to sell it. Doolittle alleged that “the men were clear that they want the money for it. And we know that they have spoken with American outlets.” She added that “they wanted six figures for it and we did not pay it.”
