On Wednesday July 21, 2010 at 1:15am an unknown male, dressed in civilian clothes, approached a female and identified himself as “Hamilton Wentworth Police”. The male advised the female that she was under arrest and directed her behind a building. The male then proceeded to conduct a search. During the search the female was sexually assaulted. After being detained for a period of time the female victim was eventually allowed to leave the area.

The suspect is described as:
Male, white, 36-37yrs, medium build, 5’6", bald shaved head with a deep voice. Wearing a red T-shirt with a Portugal emblem covering the front with cut-off sleeves, white or yellow shorts with black designs and black/yellow sandals. No tattoos, piercings or distinguishing features.

Hamilton Police are advising the public that, if they are stopped by plain clothes police officers the officer will identify him or herself with a “warrant card” that has a photograph of the officer as well as a badge with the name of the police service. If still unsure, call 9-1-1 and uniformed officers will be sent to the scene.
