Three arrested as Handgun, electric shock stun gun and Weapons Seized, Oshawa

A joint drug and weapon-related investigation involving officers from the DRPS Gang Enforcement Unit (GEU) and Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU) led to the arrest of three persons and the seizure of several prohibited weapons last night in Oshawa.

On Thursday February 17, 2011 at approximately 9:40 p.m. members of the GEU and PWEU initiated a drug and weapon-related investigation and conducted two search warrants in Oshawa homes, which led to the arrest of three suspects. Several prohibited weapons, including a handgun, a electric shock stun gun, a police-style baton, flick knife and two bullet-proof vests were seized. Officers also confiscated various quantities of drugs, drug-paraphernalia, cash, electronic devices and ammunition. During one of the two search warrants a small marihuana grow-up was discovered. The total value of illicit drugs seized exceeds $73,000 and over $6800 in cash was also seized.

Jason WILSON, age 20 of Birkdale Court in Oshawa; Brandon FEARN, age 22 of Eulalie Avenue in Oshawa and Amanda JEWELL, age 22 of Park Road South in Oshawa are charged with numerous drug and weapon-related offences. All three accused were held for a bail hearing.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jennifer CHOMNIAK, age 31, of Eulalie Avenue in Oshawa for drug and weapon-related offences.
