The T20 portion of the Cricket Canada Summer Festival got underway Saturday at the Malton Cricket Ground in Mississauga, Ontario.

In the first match of the day, West Indies HPC rolled to a crushing 8 wicket win over Bermuda. Kerron Cottoy (3-14) did the damage early for the Sagicor HPC side as they held Bermuda to a meagre total of 93-8 from 20 .

In reply Rajendra Chandrika (51*) led the way for Sagicor West Indies HPC as they won the match in 18 overs.

Canada booked their place in the final in the second match of the day, adding to Bermuda’s difficulties. Debutant Akshay Bagai (5-10) was the star as Bermuda collapsed from 30-1 to 62 all out. In reply Rizwan Cheema (27*) and Hiral Patel (31*) dusted off the vistors in 9 overs to seal the win.

West Indies HPC and Canada play Sunday morning at 11a and then again in the finals at 3p.
