Cantores Celestes, a non-profit auditioned choir featuring more than 40 women from all ages and walks of life, is thrilled to share its passion for choral music at St. Johns United Church on Sunday morning, May 26, as part of the congregations World Music Sundays program. The performance will include Circle of Days by one of New Zealands most highly performed composers, David Hamilton, selections from A Little Jazz Mass by renowned composer and conductor Bob Chilcott, and a 1000-year-old Georgian wedding song, Shen Khar venakhi (You are a Vineyard). Artistic Director Kelly Galbraith, who also serves as St. Johns Director of Music, says these selections reveal contrasting moods and languages. They will fit the service, which celebrates the feminine aspect of the divine, she says. St. Johns United Church invites the public to attend this unique and FREE performance at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 2 Nobert Road, one light north (Meadowcacres Drive) of the 401 off of Victoria Park.
