Yash Raj Films’ The Thugs Of Hindostan to be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya is getting more interesting. After casting Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan together for the first time, one hears that the director has zeroed in on Alia Bhatt to play the female lead.
However, producer Aditya Chopra wants Vaani Kapoor, who plays the lead in Chopra’s directorial venture Befikre, for the lead in Thugs Of Hindostan.
Apparently, the film’s director Vijay Krishna Acharya is not too sold on his producer’s choice.
Says a source close to the development, “Adi wants Vaani in Thugs Of Hindostan. He feels she’d get that added boost to her career after Befikre with such a big break with two of Bollywood’s biggest heroes. However Victor, alias Vijay Krishna, has other ideas. He would rather have Alia Bhatt as the female lead.”
It remains to be seen where the standoff leads. Of course Aditya Chopra is the boss. But director Vijay Krishna Acharya is no walkover either.
