Bollywood celebs mourn the death of legendary British singer George Michael

The year 2016 has not been easy. From Alan Rickman to David Bowie to Prince, the world lost many gems this year and it has been just tough. George Michael who had skyrocketed to stardom with WHAM! and went on to enjoy a long and celebrated solo career, passed away this past Sunday on Christmas. The entire world was left in shock when the death of pop legend was announced by his publicist on Sunday. The British singer was only 53 but his death is being classified as unexplained but not suspicious.

According to the official statement released, George Michael’s family said that their beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period. The late singer’s family has asked that their privacy shall be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage.

According to the reports, the immediate cause of the singer’s death wasn’t revealed but Thames Valley Police was called to a property in Goring on Thames shortly before 2 p.m in the afternoon. Sadly, a 53-year-old man was confirmed deceased at the scene.

George Michael had fans and admirers all over the world. Some Bollywood celebrities grew up watching and listening to the legendary musician’s songs. Today, on this sad day, many celebrities took to their social media accounts to mourn the death of the singer as most of them are still trying to process the news of his sudden death.
