When Kangna Ranaut is around, it’s not difficult to dig for juicy stories. The actress has had an interesting life and the anecdotes that she reveals from her life always makes for a great story. One such incident narrated by her was regarding director Hansal Mehta, whom she worked with in the upcoming film Simran. At the trailer launch of this film, Hansal Mehta revealed how she refused to work with him when she was just a newbie in Bollywood.

Hansal Mehta revealed, “I am trying to purse Kangna Ranaut since 2014. I had narrated several stories to her and it’s co-incidence that it was the script of Simran that got finalized and we made a film out of it. But I had first asked Kangna to meet me in my office in 2006, immediately after the release of her debut film Gangster. I very confidently gave a narration to her and was sure that she would agree to do my film. Nobody used to agree working with me and I was sure she would give her nod.”

Kangna Ranaut at this moment added, “Hansal thought that I am a ‘pahadi’ girl who can’t speak English properly. Hence, I would jump at this chance.” “But shockingly, she refused to do my film,” said Hansal.

Kangna Ranaut then gave another shocker: she has forgotten this crucial incident completely. Said Kangna Ranaut, “Believe it or not, I don’t remember this incident at all. At first I thought that he’s lying about the episode but the people with whom I went there, including my then manager, confirmed that the said meeting did take place.”

Kangna Ranaut concluded about this incident in her trademark, clapworthy style. She said, “Hansal even added that his ego was hurt when I refused to work with him! This is the story of my life – I might not remember it but I definitely hurt people’s egos!”
