One of the most awaited films is Kabir Khan’s next directorial ’83 which will star Ranveer Singh as former Indian Cricket Team Captain, Kapil Dev. The preparation began in early August when the duo met up with Sachin Tendulkar and visited the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. Ranveer and Kabir had specially traveled to Lord’s in London to soak in the atmosphere of the iconic stadium to witness the Test Match between India and England.

While the actor is yet to begin filming, there have been reports that revealed that Ranveer Singh will receive special training from the legendary cricketer. Just a day ago, Ranveer Singh bumped into Kapil Dev at a suburban hotel. Ranveer and Kapil were obviously pleasantly surprised with their chance meeting and discussed ’83. Their excitement about the project that will trace the life and times of the team that won the 1983 World Cup. Ranveer was attending an anniversary celebration event of a trade magazine when he bumped into Kapil Dev. He clicked a picture with a fan that had Kapil Dev in it as well.

Directed by Kabir Khan, ’83 will bring to light one of the most important events in the Indian cricket history. The film will be shot at real locations and will be going on floors early next year. While Ranveer Singh will play the role of Kapil Dev, the film will be backed by a powerful support cast. The casting of the other cricket players is still in process. The 1983 world cup has been a celebratory milestone in the history of Indian Cricket.

Anil D. Ambani led Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films in association with Vibri Media and Kabir Khan Films will release ’83 on 5th April 2019.
