We all are well aware of the fact that Amitabh Bachchan is the brand face of Kalyan Jewellers and the actor even shot for one of the ad commercials recently in Chennai. During his visit to South India, the megastar decided to bond with the Kalyan Jewellers family.
According to a picture that has gone viral on the web, Amitabh Bachchan was seen enjoying a sumptuous lunch at late veteran Shivaji Ganeshan's residence along with one of the richest families in India. The palatial dining table was decorated with flowers and delicious dishes and we hear that the meal was served on a golden platter.
Amidst all this richness and luxury, the recent ad of the brand Kalyan Jewellers was caught in a controversy. The ad poster featuring Amitabh Bachchan's daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had the actress posing in expensive royal attire with a black kid being used as a slave, holding an umbrella. Human activists and NGOs wrote an open letter accusing the ad as a racist move supporting 'black slavery', because of which the company decided to withdraw the poster.
