USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…In lieu of the Jain fasting season of Paryushan, recently, the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has imposed a 4-day day meat ban in Mumbai. While the ban met with mixed reactions, Sonam Kapoor also shared her 'feelings' about the ban on twitter. She posted, "Our country is going to remain a 3rd world nation because of the intolerant misogynistic close minded few". (For the uninitiated, a 'misogynist' is a person who hates or doesn't trust women.) No sooner she tweeted this; she started getting trolled by many for 'misunderstanding' the meaning of misogynist. Some of the criticism that she got was in the form of following tweets.

@mithunkoppal: It is time to carry a $2 Thesaurus in that $20,000 Hermes bag of yours. By the way Thesaurus means Dictionary.

@hankypanty: The meat ban is misogynistic? Sounds like a very bad innuendo.

@Silent_budhha: and with that we have a new alia bhat moment 🙂 actually Alia looks much brighter now — seriously! Alia has refined

@Bunga_Bunga_69: When bimbos try to be smart, they rather make a greater fool of themselves

Sonam Kapoor though soon realized the 'misogyny' error in her tweet as she started explaining herself stating that she was talking about "the general mentality and not only about the meat ban". However, the twitter troll continued and soon Sonam seemed to have lost her cool. The actress tweeted back stating, "Before being judgmental assholes. What I said was a critique of the general mentality. Which is not exclusive to the banning of meat. And the saddest thing about this whole thing is.. That it's mostly women who are calling me out on being bimbo. Guess it's not only the men!"

Though Sonam Kapoor got criticized for comparing meat ban to misogyny, some of her friends did come forward to her rescue. Writer Chetan Bhagat tweeted, "Even she is getting slammed for having non-partisan, non-religious view about freedom. Glad she holds her ground." Stand up comedian Karan Talwar tweeted, "Says something on her mind: Bimbo. Talks about fashion: Bimbo. Sorry @sonamakapoor. You just can't win." While RJ and TV host Jose asked Sonam to let go of the conversation tweeting, "let people say what they want to say..they'll do it anyway.. You should too..don't let em shout you down."

Sonam Kapoor too seemed to have got their point and tweeted on a lighter note stating, "Well I guess it's back to talking about fashion and brands.. Lol".
