Airport security in Peshawar caught a US diplomat with bullets and detained him for investigations on Tuesday morning.

The man was caught with bullets in his luggage at the airport trying to clear the security and heading towards the flight going to the capital of the country, Islamabad. Security officers immediately captured the individuals and took him into custody for investigation.

The man later turned out to be an employee at the embassy of United States and claimed has immunity to carry ammunition anywhere for his personal security. Upon contacting the US embassy in the city, the concerned officers said that the office “was looking into the report”. The man was detained and sent to the embassy office in Peshawar after being held for a few hours at the airport. The security officers at the airport received a clearance from the embassy and the American officer was taken back to their office in the city.

The security officer to identify the foreigner with bullets is Dost Mohammad Khan who claimed the American had 13 bullets in his luggage. The purpose of carrying bullets in a flight to Islamabad still remains vague.

The identity of the officer caught at the airport was kept confidential on his request since he said he needs to remain anonymous to the media according to the orders sent to him from Washington.

The suspicious activity of the US citizen has raised several questions on international forum.
