The operator of the North East Line SBS Transit announced on Thursday that the NEL train services have been resumed. However, the inspection process is still going on and will continue for another couple of days.

The investigation teams have declared that no discrepancies have been found so far as they have checked 23 kms of train tracks from a total of 40 kms to be inspected. The authorities mentioned that it is taking a lot more time than expected due to the level of intensity of the checks in order to avoid any disruptions at all in the future.

They also mentioned that the track that has been opened for services was checked for four-hours before being declared clear and the remaining 17 kms of the track which is being currently examined will be checked on Friday after train timings to ensure that the entire track is safe, secure, and ready for the commuters to use starting Saturday.

Speaking about the disruption that took out the communication system, the authorities mentioned that no discrepancy has been found in the North section of the track. However, two stainless wire steel cables were found broken near the Outram Park station.

A team of six engineers and ten Land Transport Authority have inspected the broken cables and ensured that they are operational.
