Various ministers present in the session of Wednesday in Rajya Sabha bombarded the Defence Minister Antony with questions regarding the “top secret” letter written by the Army Chief V K Singh to the Prime Minister of India. The matters got out of hands of the administration during the question answer session and the discussion session had to be adjourned twice to ensure decorum within the house.

The first one to ask question was the opposition leader of BJP M. Venkaiah Naidu who demanded that the contents of the letter written by the Army Chief to the PM must be disclosed to everyone present. Further ahead, he also demanded to know the response action the government has decided to take in response to the letter. Backing him up was M. Venkaiah Naidu, a member of JD. He demanded that the Army Chief must be dismissed for causing “gross indiscipline” in the country. He further said, “He should be removed from the post. The way he is talking to the press. This is gross indiscipline. We demand that he should be dismissed.” More members of Rajya Sabha joined the protest slogans against the Army Chief and demanded that the course of action against him should be quick and decisive.

Seeing the non-calming behavior of the ministers, Antony responded saying “Regarding the letter of the Army Chief to the Prime Minister, which he [Army Chief] said is a top secret letter, I am aware of the letter. It should not have come out, government will respond to it appropriately.”
