20 year old York University student sexually assaulted on campus

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a sexual assault investigation.

Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred inside the Seneca College building on the York University Campus on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at approximately 4 p.m.

It is reported that:

– a 20-year-old- female student was walking to the Seneca College building when she became aware that a man was walking very closely behind her, and following her

– the woman entered the Seneca College building with the man continuing to follow her

-once at the main hall, the man sexually assaulted the woman

– the woman made her way into an office to try to evade the man, but he followed her into the office

– the woman then left the office and the man continued to follow her

– the woman attempted to enter another office to find a teacher, however, the man sexually assaulted her in the hall a second time

– when the woman finally got into the second office, she closed the door behind her and the man left the building

The suspect is described as having a medium-black complexion, 25-29, 5’9" -5’11", with a medium build, a round face and several days’ growth of facial hair.

Police continue to remind the public to be extra vigilant of their surroundings.
