Body of Stewart Miles found Seal Cove, NL

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has located and positively identified the body in Seal Cove as that of 54-year-old endangered person, STEWART MILES.

At approximately 10:30 pm on May 20, 2011, Patrol Officers for the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to the area of Seal Cove, NL, to a report of a missing 54 year old male. STEWART MILES was last seen in the area of the CBS highway (Route 60) in Seal Cove at approximately 5:30 pm on May 20, 2011.

At 8:00 this morning, the RNC search and rescue coordinator, Universal helicopter and volunteers from Central Avalon and Rovers Search and Rescue commenced a ground search in the immediate area of where STEWART MILES was last seen. With information provided by members of the public, the Universal helicopter located the deceased in a wooded area at 2:30 pm today.

The Major Crime Unit has positively identified the deceased person as STEWART MILES and has notified the next of kin. An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death and the RNC Major Crime Unit is continuing their investigation into this matter.
