Toronto man arrested for loaded 9mm Beretta handgun

On Monday, May 23, 2011, members of the TAVIS Rapid Response Team were on patrol in the area of 40 Firvalley Court.

It is alleged that:

– police investigated a man in the lobby of the building,

– the man was in possession of a 9mm Beretta handgun, loaded with five rounds of ammunition.

– the man was also wanted on a warrant in the first instance for a series of criminal and drug charges.

Dayne Sitladeen 20, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Acquire Firearm without P.A.L.,
2) Altering serial number of firearm,
3) Firearm Careless storage,
4) Possession of firearm serial number altered,
5) Store, Display, Firearm contrary to regulation,
6) Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
7) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
8) Altering, defacing or removing serial number on firearm,
9) Possession of firearm knowing the serial number has been altered defaced or removed,
10) Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
11) Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order,
12) Carry concealed weapon,
13) Weapons Dangerous,
14) Careless use of a firearm,
15) Careless use of ammunition,
16) Possession of ammunition for a dangerous purpose,
17) Possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order,
18) Assault with intent to resist arrest,
19) Obstruct Peace Officer,
20) Fail to comply with probation,
21) Possession of proceeds of crime,
22) Possession of cocaine for the purpose,
23) Possession of cocaine,
24) Warrant in the first possession of cocaine for the purpose,
25) Warrant in the first possession of cocaine,
26) Warrant in the first assault with intent to resist arrest,
27) Warrant in the first fail to comply probation.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, room 101, at 10 a.m.
