n the 26 June 2011 at approx 420pm Greater Sudbury Emergency Services which include Police, fire and EMS. Were called to a possible drowning in the Vermillion River in the Capreol area. A full scale Ground and water search is being directed to locating this missing youth. Greater Sudbury Police uniform division and Search and rescue, Sudbury Fire department Water rescue, Ems, North Shore Search and rescue are currently engaged in this comprehensive search.

Ontario Provincial police Helicopter has flown a grid search and will return at first light. The Greater Sudbury Police remain hopeful that this 14 year old boy is located as soon as possible.

Update

On the morning of the 27th of June 2011, the search for the missing youth was resumed by Greater Sudbury Police, North Shore Search and Rescue and Greater Sudbury Fire Services. Assistance was provided by the Ontario Provincial Police helicopter. At approximately 12 pm, divers from the Ontario Provincial Police arrived on scene and initiated a search of the river. The body of the missing youth was located a short time later. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
