The Calgary Police Service has charged a 56-year-old Calgary man with aggravated sexual assault following an encounter involving a 17-year-old girl from central Alberta.

The man met the girl through an online dating website and communicated with her on numerous occasions.

On Friday, July 8, 2011, he drove to a summer camp that the victim was attending, picked her up and drove her to an address in Calgary where it is alleged he sexually assaulted her.

Calgary police became aware of the matter when RCMP members reported concerns that the girl was taken out of the camp and provided a description of the suspect vehicle.

Police were able to trace that vehicle to an address in southwest Calgary. When officers attended, they found the victim in distress and arrested the suspect.

Xavier Robert BISSONNETTE, 56, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault.

He has been remanded in custody and is next scheduled to appear in court on Monday, July 18, 2011.

BISSONNETTE was diagnosed as having HIV in 1998, and allegedly did not disclose this prior to engaging in unprotected sex with the victim.

The Calgary Police Service believes there may be other victims who are unaware of the suspects medical history and therefore are encouraging anyone who may have had unprotected sexual relations with him to contact them.

  1. This inccomment_IDent only highlights the importance of safety awareness especially for young women.

Here are tips that should help online daters, with more information from my free dating sites, Jumpdates.com.

    1. Follow your instinct and don’t take the face value of someone you just met. These deranged people are clever and they will come across as friendly and nice.

    2. Never get into a car with any men you just first met, no matter where you think you maybe going.

    3. Tell a friend you are going to see someone and let them know and have a cellphone with you all the time.

    4. Meet at a public place.

    5. Ask the man you want to meet some of their friends. If they are a loner, they wont introduce you to any and that can be a red flag. If they are flying or coming from a long distance that can be a red flag too.

By following these simple rules, one can remain safe and still enjoy meeting people from online dating.
