Oshawa police bust high quality counterfeit credit card gang

Investigators with DRPS Major Fraud – Organized Crime Section recently arrested four suspects using counterfeit credit cards at an Oshawa retail store.

On Tuesday July 19, 2011 police attended an Oshawa retail location and arrested all four suspects, who were involved in purchasing high-end electronic items and gift cards with high quality counterfeit credit cards. Investigators seized 16 counterfeit cards, $3600 in gift cards, approximately $5000 in cash and a 2000 BMW. All four accused persons were held for bail hearing.

Giovani FANUZZI, age 31 of Futura Drive in Toronto is charged with: Conspiracy, Fraud, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Credit Card Obtained by Crime x10, Unauthorized Possession of Credit Card Data x10 and Knowingly Possess Identity Information for a Fraudulent Purpose.

Michael PALUMBO, age 32 of No Fixed Address is charged with: Conspiracy, Fraud, Possession of a Credit Card Obtained by Crime x2, Unauthorized Possession of Credit Card Data x2 and Knowingly Possess Identity Information for a Fraudulent Purpose.

Helen CHEN, age 20 of Corporate Drive in Toronto is charged with: Conspiracy, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Credit Card Obtained by Crime x10, Unauthorized Possession of Credit Card Data x10 and Knowingly Possess Identity Information for a Fraudulent Purpose.

Changxiang HE, age 24 of Keyworth Trail in Toronto is charged with: Conspiracy, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Credit Card Obtained by Crime x10, Unauthorized Possession of Credit Card Data x10 and Knowingly Possess Identity Information for a Fraudulent Purpose.
