Arrest made in the death for Regina man Seydou Camara

The Regina Police Service is releasing the name of the deceased from the sudden death investigation.

At approximately 12:09 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2011, police received a call reporting that there was an unknown male, lying motionless in a back yard in the 1600 block of Toronto Street. Information received suggested that the caller believed the male may be deceased. Police and EMS attended and confirmed discovery of a deceased adult male, 43 year old Seydou Camara, of Regina. A Coroner was requested, along with investigators from the Forensic Identification and Major Crimes sections. The scene was secured by patrol members.

The Regina Police Service is working in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner to determine the circumstances of this man’s death, the investigation is continuing. A 40 year-old Fergus Standingready (1970/09/08) has been charged with Aggravated Assault and made his first court appearance on Tuesday, September 6, 2011
