Houston police investigating cause of an infant’s death

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a baby boy at 7414 Schuller about 11 p.m. on Saturday (March 24).

The infant, 7 months, suffered severe burns and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity and cause of death are pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Elliott and Officer M. Stahlin reported:

The Houston Fire Department responded to the above address due to a fire that destroyed several apartments.  Upon gaining control of the fire, firefighters entered one of the apartments and discovered the body of the baby boy.

The HFD Arson Division will investigate the cause of the fire.  The Houston Police Department’s investigation into the baby’s death is pending autopsy results.
