Kurtis Leclaire and Farrell Twoheart charged with firearms offences in Winnipeg

On Friday, August 6th, 2010 at approximately 3:30 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Powers Street and Pritchard Avenue. Officers observed a passenger attempting to conceal a can of bear spray near his foot.

A subsequent search of the vehicle located a loaded Ruger 9mm hand gun and a pair of brass knuckles. The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged.

Kurtis LECLAIRE, 23 years of Winnipeg was charged with eight firearms offences and Breach of Probation.

Farrell TWOHEART, 21 years of Winnipeg was charged with three firearms offences.

Both Leclaire and Twoheart were detained in custody.

A third, 19 year old male was charged with six firearms offences and two Highway Traffic Act violations and released on a Promise to Appear.
