A 41-year-old Moncton man has been arrested and charged with various sexual offences while in a position of trust.
On December 19, 2013, 41-year-old William MacGillivray appeared in MonctonProvincial Court and was charged with child luring, sexual exploitation and sexual assault. He was arrested on December 18, in relation to incidents involving a girl under the age of 18, alleged to have occurred between March 1 and November 30, 2013.
William MacGillivray is a teacher at Harrison Trimble High School where he also acted as the drama instructor. He is alleged to have committed the offences while in a position of trust. At this point, one victim has been identified.
MacGillivray has been remanded until December 20, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. for a bail hearing.
I don’t think so. While I don’t quite know what’s happened here, and I can’t say for sure if there really was something that went on here between him and a student… I can say that William MacGillivray isn’t the “Child Luring” type. In fact, he’s more of the Lured-by-child type. There’s a long history of students trying to come on to Mr. MacGillivray, and of him just brushing it off. He’s the artsy type and a very competent solo-father. I guess that just gives him an attractive vibe. I’d like for these allegations to be proven untrue, but I guess we’ll just have to wait for now.
I can’t even begin to fathom your comment_content above.. For you to say yourself that this man is a Lured-by-child type and that he has an attractive vibe, why would it be such a large leap to believe he crossed a line.. This so called man was a teacher, to be Lured-by-child is an ignorant hurtful comment_content.. I can only imagine what this girl is going through.. I applaud her courage.. I speak as someone who’s life has been impacted by such atrocities, more times then we would like to know, a high school girl is lead astray by a male teacher only to be left feeling like it would betray the teacher to speak out.. Girls at such a vulnerable age, left confused, feeling embarrassed that they fell in love with a teacher.. Those girls are left so confused that they start to question everything they once believed about love, faith, happiness, and hope.. Most will have no comment_content_IDea the impact this will have on their life for many years.. SO many girls don’t speak up after a teacher does something like this…More here in NB then we want to imagine.. I hope if there are more girls out there that have suffered because of this man, that they also find the courage to come forward.. One can only hope that this teacher gets what he deserves…
