Multidiscipline Show A Night of Trans-Anarchism Examines Gender

Highways Performance Space and Gallery (Santa Monica, CA)

"A Night of Trans-Anarchism"

Curated by Leon Mostovoy, this exhibition includes film, experimental dance and theater pieces that look at the gender roles imposed by society and how transgendered men and women have struggled to escape the confines of those roles. Mostovoy’s piece Death of My Daughter uses photo and video to "lay to rest" gender, illustrating change into manhood. The show also includes a story about life as a transsexual woman from Talia Bettcher, Pony Lee Estrange’s Pigs in the Parlour / TRANSMUTE combining video projection, live sound and manipulation of the body, Metahuman’s It Is So Pomo, Micha Cardenas’s Find Each Other experimental movement piece and several other works.
