The Gardiner celebrates emerging talent in film and music in partnership with TIFF and Wavelength, featuring a performance by acclaimed indie psych band Fresh Snow.
At 7:30 pm, TIFF will screen a collection of recent Canadian short films by some of the greatest filmmakers and emerging artists of the past year, a microcosm of the healthy and vibrant Canadian film landscape. Having premiered either at the Toronto International Film Festival or at TIFF’s Canada’s Top Ten, the selected films point to the invigorating and eclectic cinematic voices that emerged over the past year and demanded our attention.
At 9:00 pm, Wavelength, Toronto’s longest-running and most influential underground music forum presents a performanced by Toronto-based instrumental psych-rock band Fresh Snow, known for their unique experimental tracks and visually-engaging live shows.
ABOUT DOORS at 6PM:
This summer, the Gardiner Museum launches DOORS at 6pm, a series of Friday night cultural experiences FREE with half-price gallery admission that will animate the Museum inside and out with performances by Toronto’s best homegrown talent working in art, music, film, food, theatre, and literature. In partnership with some of the city’s most innovative and influential cultural players—including TIFF, Wavelength, SummerWorks Performance Festival, TO Jazz Fest, and The Writer’s Trust of Canada—DOORS at 6pm, running from June 26 to July 24, celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of Toronto’s cultural scene. www.gardinermuseum.com/doors
