WOW! These two new stills of PadMan would surely make your day!

The hype for Akshay Kumar’s next flick PadMan is increasing day by day. It is based on a short story written by wife Twinkle Khanna in her second book ‘The Legend Of Laskhmi Prasad’ and inspired from Arunachalam Muruganantham, who revolutionised the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India by creating a low-cost sanitary napkins production machine. Twinkle herself is the producer on this film and filmmaker R Balki is the director. Moreover, it’s releasing during the beneficial period of Republic Day next year and as of now, it’s a solo release for PadMan.

Earlier in the day, it was unveiled that Sony Pictures Entertainment has picked up the rights to distribute this film worldwide. And on the same day, the team of the film has unveiled two stills from the film that is bound to enhance the hype. The first still features Akshay Kumar sitting happily with a smiling Sonam Kapoor. The actress looks good in her bespectacled avatar and her clothes, as expected, stand out. Both are taking a ride in a bullock cart. Akshay Kumar tweeted this image and captioned it, “The STRENGTH behind #PADMAN”.

The second picture is Akshay posing with Radhika Apte, who reportedly plays his sister.  He calls her ‘The REASON he became #PADMAN’ as per the caption given to this picture by him on Twitter.  Both look quite rustic here, especially Radhika who looks every inch a simple, village girl. She is holding a small slab with three tiny flowers on it and we wonder the relevance of it.

PadMan was earlier scheduled to release on April 13 while Akshay’s sci-fi flick 2.0 was to arrive on Republic Day. But after 2.0 got indefinitely postponed, PadMan makers decided to arrive on this vacant date.
