Her decision to perform in 'Ram Chahe Leela' in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epical saga Ram Leela is paying dividends as within hours of its arrival, the song is fetching some good accolades for itself.

Most importantly, it has reaffirmed faith in B-Town that if an A-list celebrity is adequately utilized, she can add great value to a film with her sheer presence.

"The song was fantastic to begin with and now the way Priyanka has performed to it is truly unique," a filmmaker comments, "She deserves much better than a 'Pinky' [Zanjeer] that was just not up to her standing as an actress. Now with 'Ram Chahe Leela', she is indeed talking and everyone can see what she is capable of. Such is the kind of song that it would be sacrilege to term it as an item number. It is indeed coming across as a special song-n-dance number which is well integrated in the film."

A thought that filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, who had himself roped in Priyanka for Shootout at Wadala ['Babli Badmaash'] agrees. He tweeted – 'Finally after months I have heard a song and instantly fallen in love with it – 'Ram Chaahe Leela'. Smart lyrics, super melody and well produced. What I also liked a lot about 'Ram Chaahe Leela' is that it is not overtly grandiose. It is darkly sexy and Priyanka is stunning."

With others in the B-Town endorsing Priyanka's presence as well, what with even Deepika complimenting her on the social network platform by calling her 'beautiful' and 'thanking' her for doing the song, the lady in white (as she appears in the song) was busy collecting all the compliments, even as she was promoting her own Krrish 3.

When contacted, she said, "I am totally overwhelmed by the response. I know that people have noticed the moves. It is just that it's a very different avtar for me and I am proud to be presenting it to everyone."

With Deepika enjoying her many dance numbers ('Nagada Sang Dhol', 'Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun') and Priyanka joining in as well with 'Ram Chahe Leela', guess the film has only turned bigger. Now if only Bhansali could have pulled a casting coup by bringing in the two actresses on the same frame, a la Madhuri Dixit & Aishwarya Rai in 'Dil Dola' [Devdas], it would have been a different level of excitement altogether. Perhaps he is saving it for another day.
