Tonya Thomas, a Florida mother shot all her children dead before killing herself. The children ran to their neighbor’s house to find a safe spot but Thomas followed and brought them back home.

Later, she shot the four children – Pebbles Johnson, 17; Jaxs Johnson, 15; Jazlin Johnson, 13; and Joel Johnson, 12 – and then gunned herself down.

According to the neighbors, the 33-year-old woman seemed really calm and composed when she came to their house to call her kids back.

Lt. Tod Goodyear, spokesman for the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said: “From what the neighbors said, she was very calm. She walked out and called them back. They turned around and walked back to the house.”

Another neighbor says Thomas sent them a text message in the middle of the night asking them to cremate her with her children. But he didn’t see the text until he woke up this morning.

“I cannot comprehend as a parent doing this to their children… calling them back in and shooting them,” Goodyear said.

According to Goodyear police had come to this house many times before responding to domestic complaints. Jamie Hudson from the neighborhood said the boys in the family often threatened to set a nearby house on fire.

“It has been an ongoing problem on our street with them,” Hudson said.

Jarvis Wash, minister of the Real Church in Rockledge, Fla. said the family attended services last Sunday after a very long time.

“I don’t know what could have happened in the past couple of days,” Wash said. “It’s a tragedy to the church and the community.”
