Jan Lim and Jaranya Kanjanavaikoon found dead in Houston, Texas

Houston police are investigating the death of a woman and apparent suicide of a man at 12179 Huntington Venture about 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 10).

The deceased woman, identified as Jan Lim, 59, of the above address, suffered multiple blunt force trauma wounds to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased male, identified as Jaranya Kanjanavaikoon, 46, of the above address, was also found deceased in the residence.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer S. Anderson and Officer J. Harvey reported:

A relative went to Mr. Kanjanaviakoon’s residence to check on him since he had not been answering the telephone. The relative and a co-worker used a spare key, entered the residence and found Kanjanaviakoon deceased in the living room. Both men then called police. Patrol officers responded to the scene and found Ms. Lim deceased in the bedroom. A hatchet, possibly the murder weapon, was recovered at the scene.

Further investigation and witness statements determined that Kanjanaviakoon and Lim were having domestic issues and Kanjanaviakoon was suicidal.
