The Regina Police Service is conducting an investigation into a suspicious death of a three year-old male child, which was reported to police on Tuesday, May 3, 2011.

On Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Regina Police Service Communications Centre received a call with information of a possible deceased person in a vehicle in the yard of a residence in the 200 block of Halifax Street. Police attended the address specified by the caller and located a van parked at the back of the property. Inside the vehicle was the body of a male child. EMS and firefighters were also at the scene; EMS confirmed the child to be deceased. Police officers secured the scene and requested Forensic Identification, Major Crimes, as well as the Coroner. This incident is under investigation as a suspicious death; the Coroner has ordered an autopsy.

There are no further details for release at this time. The deceased, a three year-old male child, has been identified, but his identity will not be released at this time. Currently, police are holding the scene and conducting interviews.
