Second person charged in the death of Regina toddler

The Regina Police Service has charged a second person, a 38 year-old male, in connection with the discovery of a deceased three year-old child, reported to police on May 3, 2011.

On Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Regina Police Service Communications Centre received a call with information of a possible deceased person in a vehicle in the yard of a residence in the 200 block of Halifax Street. Police, EMS and firefighters attended; police located a van and, inside it, the body of a male child, later identified as three year-old Nylan Jordan George CLARKE. EMS confirmed the child to be deceased. At that point, police secured the scene and, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, began the investigation into the death. As a result of the investigation, police have now charged a second individual, a 38 year-old Regina male.

Thirty-eight year-old Harley William Fraser STUECK, DOB: 1972-08-20 of Regina, is charged with Criminal Negligence Causing Death [220 CC]; Indignity to a Dead Body [182(b) CC] and Obstruct Justice [139(2) CC]. STUECK will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. this morning, Friday, May 6, 2011. The investigation into this death is ongoing.
