Officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime and ICE Units have charged a man in connection with a week-long investigation.

Last week, police received a complaint about a man’s conduct with a 17-year-old female with whom he held a position of trust. As a result of the investigation, a search was conducted at a Portland Hills Drive residence this morning just after 6 a.m. and officers located evidence of child pornography on computer equipment. A man was arrested at the scene without incident.

Fifty-three-year-old Joseph Emile “Luc” Potvin of Dartmouth faces charges of luring a child, sexual exploitation and possession of child pornography. He’s been remanded to the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday.
