Police charge Sydney Mines man with stunt driving

RCMP Cape Breton Traffic Services have charged a Sydney Mines man with Stunting. Yesterday morning, around 11:50 a.m., RCMP Cape Breton Traffic Services noted a vehicle traveling at a very fast rate of speed on Highway 125 near Leitches Creek.

The vehicle was traveling in the westbound lane at a speed of 174 km/h in a posted 100 km/h speed zone. The speed was confirmed by police on radar. RCMP stopped the vehicle and charged the 31-year-old male from Sydney Mines with Stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act. The stunting charge brings with it, if convicted, a fine of $2410.21 along with an immediate seven day suspension of the driver's license and an immediate seizure of the vehicle.
