Hamilton man Robert Ellis charged with several counts of child pornography

The Hamilton Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (I.C.E.) Unit has arrested and charged a Hamilton man after investigating international allegations of extortion, child pornography and child luring.

Hamilton Police received information from the FBI that a Hamilton man had been posing as a young female and used social media to befriend boys and young men in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada.  Some of these boys continued chatting via webcam and were urged to disrobe by the accused who was still thought to be a young female.  The accused recorded these images and video and then threatened to post the images and videos unless the boys provided further pornographic materials.  In some cases the victims complied with the demands of the accused and in others the victims photographs were shared with friends and relatives.

Hamilton Police investigated the information further and executed a search warrant at a Hamilton mountain address on April 25th, 2012 where a quantity of computer equipment was seized for analysis.   After further investigation, ICE investigators are alleging that Robert Ellis was the person responsible for the offences. 

On Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 members of the I.C.E. unit arrested Robert Ellis without incident at his place of employment. 

Further evidence suggests that there are numerous other local and International young male victims that were unaware that they were chatting with and exposing themselves to a 21 year old male and the investigation is continuing here, in the United States and in the United Kingdom with further victims being identified by the I.C.E. unit as the investigation continues. The accused had been using an email address of Jess_babe95@live.com“>Jess_babe95@live.com.

                    Possession of Child Pornography
                    Luring x 2 
                    Make Child Pornography x 2 
                    Make Available Child Pornography 

Robert Ellis was held for a bail hearing scheduled for May 9th, 2012 and further charges are expected.
