On June 30, 2010, around 3:15 p.m., District 2 RCMP responded to a traffic collision with injuries along Highway 102 in Lincoln, N.B. involving a motorcycle and two vehicles.

A father and his son were proceeding east on Highway 102 on a motorcycle when they were cut off by a vehicle turning into to the Tamarack Mobile Home Park. The motorcycle collided with the car, which resulted in both father and son being projected off and sliding underneath an oncoming vehicle which had already come to a stop. The driver of the motorcycle and his son were pinned under the front of the oncoming vehicle for a short period of time. Oromocto Fire Department assisted and were instrumental in lifting the vehicle off the victims. Both father and son were transported to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital with serious injuries.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist has been assigned to this investigation. Although the collision is still under investigation, alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
