International fugitive Mohamud Mahad of U.K arrested in Toronto

On Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at 9:30 a.m., members of the Toronto Police Service Fugitive Squad and Canada Border Service Agency arrested Mohamud Mahad, also known as Kalid Sharif.

It is alleged that:

– in April 2003, the accused was involved in an altercation involving a group of men,

– the accused was seen by witnesses beating another man,

– the man later died,

– an arrest warrant was issued for the accused by South Wales Police for murder,

– the accused fled the U.K., arriving in Canada in 2003.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at 361 University Avenue, on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at 10 a.m.
