Steven Elliot Laffin charged with kidnapping in Halifax

A man faces charges in connection with an abduction which occurred Monday night.

At 10:48 p.m. police responded to a residence in the 2000 block of the Old Sambro Road after a 29-year-old woman knocked on a door at this location asking for help. It was reported to police that the woman was picked up in the area by a man who ended up tying her up and locking her in the trunk of the vehicle. The victim managed to get free and ask for assistance. A man matching the description arrived at the Spryfield Community Office and was arrested without incident.

Thirty-five-year-old Steven Elliot Laffin faces charges of kidnapping, forcible confinement, aggravated sexual assault and uttering threats. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
