Windsor Police have laid drug related charges against a man after he was found acting erratically in the hallway of an apartment building early yesterday morning. At 6:55 a.m. on Wednesday November 17, 2010, uniformed officers responded to an apartment building in the 1100 block of Ouellette Ave. for a report of a man acting erratically and waving a knife around in the hallway outside his apartment. Upon arrival, officers found an extremely intoxicated man staggering around the hallway outside his open apartment door. The man was rambling incoherently about stabbing someone. Officers arrested the man but did not locate a knife during a subsequent search of his person.

After the man was arrested, officers looked into his apartment and observed a three knives and a meat cleaver resting on a coffee table. Officers also detected an overpowering smell of marihuana. Upon entering the apartment, officers located several bags of loose marihuana located on a dresser just inside the apartment door. The total weight of the marihuana seized was 1.36 kg. Officers also observed two bricks of hashish and several vials of hashish oil. Forty eight cartons of contraband cigarettes were also seized from the apartment.

The total value of the seized drugs is estimated to be $17,400.

Barry LECLAIR – 38 years of Windsor is charged with five counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
