According to a report recently published by Huffington Post, one of the two MPs booted from the Liberal caucus by Leader Justin Trudeau actually stands accused by a female NDP MP for having sex “without explicit consent.” Huffington Post vowed to keep the identity of NDP MP, who accused Massimo Pacetti of forcing himself on her last March, a secret. The NDP MP was quoted saying that “it was sex without explicit consent.”

In response to the allegations, Trudeau kicked Pacetti out of caucus earlier this month and announced publicly to have come across allegations of “personal misconduct” directly from an MP. According to Huffington Post, the NDP MP has confirmed to be the one to have spoken to Trudeau while two of them were attending the funeral of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo in Hamilton. According to a statement issued by Pacetti at the time he was booted from caucus, he said he hopes to haven an independent investigation to exonerate him.

The key issue at hand is lack of a transparent and agreed-upon process for such an independent investigation. In addition to Pacetti, Scott Andrews has also been accused of “personal misconduct” and kicked out from cabinet. However, neither complainants have come forward as the NDP MP, who spoke to the Huffington Post, also revealed she doesn’t want the matter to become public and did not want the MPs to be ejected from their caucus. Instead, the NDP MP said hopes Pacetti would apologize to her and, perhaps, seek some professional help.
