York Regional Police is investigating the discovery of human remains found yesterday in a wooded area near Tomlinson Park in the Town of Markham.

On Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at approximately 12:25 p.m., police were called to a wooded area of Tomlinson Park near Treeline Court in Markham after a man walking through the park discovered the body.

Both the Ontario Coroner’s Office and members of the York Regional Police Homicide and Forensic Identification Units responded as a result of the discovery.

Once the area has been properly excavated, the remains will be sent for a forensic autopsy to determine the cause of death and identity of the remains.
