Investigators from Peel Regional Police’s Homicide Bureau have made an arrest in relation to the Region’s fifth homicide of 2010.

On Saturday, August 21, 2010, at approximately 10:44 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting on Wickstead Court in Brampton. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Darren McLEAN, a 23 year-old Brampton man, at his residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Attempts to provide medical assistance to Mr. McLEAN were unsuccessful and he was subsequently pronounced dead.

After a lengthy investigation, officers from the Homicide Bureau have identified a suspect in this matter; Michael McINTOSH. Mr. McINTOSH, a 20 year-old former resident of Brampton, and currently of no fixed address, has been arrested for murder.

Investigators from the Homicide Bureau are continuing their search for other suspects involved in this murder. It is strongly recommended that these suspects obtain legal counsel and turn themselves into police.
