Edmonton’s Medical Examiner completed the autopsy this afternoon on the latest homicide victim. It’s been determined that Mohamud Mohamed JAMA, 23 died as a result of a gunshot wound.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2011, EPS members responded to a lounge at 111 Street and 107 Avenue on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found a deceased man lying on the floor of the lobby and numerous people still in the lounge. A second male who was also shot, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is recovering.

Detectives continue to investigate and are asking that witnesses come forward with information that could help solve the case. No suspects have been identified at this time.
