The Hamilton Police Service has arrested and charged a Hamilton woman after she robbed a downtown Hamilton bank.

On Wednesday, February 16th, 2011 at approximately 10:00 a.m., a woman entered the Bank of Montreal located at 281 Barton St. E. Hamilton. It is alleged that the woman passed a note to the bank teller indicating she had a gun and demanding cash. No weapon was seen. The suspect exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash but left behind personal identification.

The Hamilton Police Service Break, Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery (BEAR) Unit continued to investigate and approximately one hour after the robbery went to the home of the suspect where she was arrested.
