Akilesh Yadev Singh, the vice president of the Samajwadi Party and the newly voted Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is hinting signs of a makeover for the party starting with the secretary of SP.
Akilesh has already created hoopla in the party before officially swearing in as the chief minister. He suspended the secretary of SP Rajiv Rai demanding an explanation for activities not favouring SP and his media statements clarifying that it is not the duty of a secretary to give out public statements. Only the party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhry has the authority to speak to the media about the future plans of the party or any other related information as a matter of fact.
Some of the very close mentors of Akilesh commented that it was necessary as several members of the party had started to give out media statements without the consent of the party, which not only damaging the image of the party but also Alikesh himself since he is now responsible for all party members’ acts and intentions.
News from within the party say that Akilesh is going to depend heavily on the political advice of the former CM of UP and his father Mulayam Singh Yadev since Akilesh still has loads to learn regarding “understanding the bureaucracy”.
